Painting with Soft Pastels

I was thinking for a long time to help children with chalk pastels .We got a chance to go to the craft shop, bought soft pastels to try something different for summer holidays.

No plan where to start. Had a look at a few videos of chalk pastels.Annu started with a sunset. Doing really well. Using various shades and blended very well by patting with her fingers. These drawings with soft pastels can be easily smudged and blended, but results in high proportion of dust.

Munnu started with sunset colors, then put dark colors, changed his plan to a night time, trees became dark, birds flying back to thier nests, some are flying with their wings up, some down and others on their sideways. Kiddos enjoyed their painting with pastels, though I had a nice time of cleaning them up especially little theresu., fully  covered her with  chalk dust.

Theresu's painting, having fun with her little fingers.

Annu and Munnu's final work.
