Visit to Eyam- The village affected by Plague

It was a quick decision to visit Eyam- one of the village in Chester field affected by Plaque in 1666.

Visited the burial tomb of a family of 6 children left out by their survivor mum Elizabeth Hanock.

They all perished in the space of just 8 days. This reminded of so many disheartening stories of covid happeningcaround. Lord have mercy on all people.

The place is so beautiful surrounded by a village, valleys , cows, horses and sheep are grazing in the landscape.  Beautiful thick rocks around look as if carved or chiselled out for some purpose. Children and adults enjoyed climbing and swings in the place, went with other home educating family
.
Lot of historic value to this place. We made a walk through the path and circled back to the place where we started journey. There was a little sink when people were quarantined with plaque and outsiders brought things and left out. Coins are left in the vinegar to exchange in order to prevent the spread to others.

Exploring the Woodlands

Over the weekend, it was sunny and nice day. Just on a journey to Cannock Chase forest. This time   to the stepping stone and lots of steep hills to clamber and more scenic. So fun for kids to go up the hill and climbing down was bit tricky. However little ones explored new trails finding their way down and up.

      Big children together

Thomas family accompanied with us  , big kids had fun together chit chat and unending talks...Little ones enjoyed being together, walking and exploring hills , finally reached the stepping stones with puddles with lots of pebbles and to criss the water.  Joseph seems to enjoy most throwing ball to  brook to pick.

All of the children together on a branch

        Theresu on a stump

Finally, landed in a good piece of open land, where they could all play cricket and parents could settle down to have tea and snacks. It was another beautiful day to cherish.

Divine Mercy

Last Sunday was second week of Easter and the feast of Divine Mercy. Every year as a family, we try to prepare for the feast at least do a confession and some fun foods at home.

This year some of the little kids gathered on feast day in zoom, planned activity: craft , story telling and recited DM chaplet at 3pm. That was so cool.

The beautiful image give  us lot of meanings,  Image itself is Risen Lord, with wounds, blood and water from the pierced heart reflecting His mercy and reminder of Eucharist. Lord is stretching His feet forward reminding His extending mercy to each one of us. Lord asked St Faustina to add the signature print in the image( one of the early selfies)...Jesus I Trust in You.

It was spring snowing in North , April showers and snowflakes rolled up in the car.

Little fun activity on feast day, hand activity filled with acts of mercy written inside to practise these days.

Easter day in Woods

This year again due to restrictions to not meet indoors.  Finally, made out plan to meet with Thomas family in Cannock chase forest.

I was not expecting much, however things fell in place smoothly. We began our journey into Woodlands, the walk was so refreshing. A little brook was cutting through the way, most of us cross the stream. Even our little Jokut enjoyed the most. Thank God, the weather was ok. The trip had a break, enjoyed biriyani and homemade brownies.  Kids played a lot, big boys chit chat as we were meeting face to face after a while. Some had sun bath and we moved into another spot to other spot. Parted in the end around 6.30 PM and it was a brilliant Easter feasting and joyful time together.

    Big boys together

Eldest ones enjoying been together too.

Little jokut's journey downhill the valley bumping here and there.
