Art of connection

Last week in our homeschool art group, it was all about dutch painting and artists. Some games and art appreciation was made. Natalie played some of Vivaldi music and all danced  along with different moods and themes of the song. Charlotte Mason tea with cup cakes, cookies and chit chat about art.

The Home ed art group after their  browsing and thorough research , it was a brillant day. Kids has some dance and fun talking about all the information gathered.

Birthday Party

After such  a long gap of celebrating big birthday, here comes an oportunity to celebrate. A few of our Theresu's friends were invited to our house .We kept blue color theme for the day as per birthday girl.

    It was great. As soon as all arrived, went for a walk and fed birds. Reached home and played some random games. Thomas family landed so unexpectedly. It added the joy of the day as they are Theresu's God parents. Kids enjoyed petite pancakes dipping in chocolate mountain and creme  and strawberries.

 Now comencés with baking cookies, loaded into oven to bake. Annu, Dona and all teens helped with kids; Vidy were a big support. 

Then comes the birthday girl cutting cake...and breaking pinata was the real fun for the children , grabbed as much sweets they could and shared each other.

 and decorated with springles and marshmellows to take home in the gift bags.

    I am glad it all happened beautifully and thank you Lord for our miracle daughter.

Annu  in the making and decorating cake for little sister. Annu has a strenous day and a massive blessings to me in helping  whole day.

Winter walks

Recent strolls and winter chills , however forest bathing is always great. On Sundays we go to cemetry. The place is so massive , with lots of lanes, pretty much clean, cleaner, peaceful and a good walk can bé guaranteed without any dogs. T'homas family visited us and accompanied us.

Epiphany- 12 days of Christmas

Today on the feast of Epiphany. The final days of 12 days of celebration . Our Lord was shown to wider circle,   especially visiting of the wise men.

      Another good day for a party. Shakespeare wrote a play in honor of Twelfth Night. The main things of the festa is fun and joy- Christ with us among  men.

    Some of the  things can bé done on this day

Leaving wise men close the the stable. Giving little gifts to children no matter big or small, value it reminder of wise men bringing gifts.

Enjoy and sing- We three kings all these 12 days.

Party with diferents foods. Some countries strip Christmas decors on this day.

Another beautiful thing is to make a French- Galette du Rois with a small figure of King  in it. Whoever get  the figure will be king for the eve.

Last but not the least is The house blessings. The blessed chalk is suec to wrote the inicials of wise men with the year. We tend to follow this every year.

Some of the highlights at home:

Food table with 12 days 

Galette du Rois. 

Ingredients: 120gm butter, 120gm sugar, 200gm grounded Almonds, 1 egg.

First get ready all the ingredients to wrap in.

A small figure of king can bé inserted.

Cut  two rounds out of puff pastry roll or  made  from scratch.

Rounds should be size of cake you want.

Brush with beaten egg and bake until crispy golden.

We cut little shape of pear tree and partridge to leave on top for the first day of Christmas. This time it became small.

Gifts for the day

Making Lapbook is one of the exciting part, children can spend lot of time cutting, assembling and learning the hidden meaning of 12 day song.

Out for a stroll 

Both of my boys celebrate their baptism day on the Feast of Epiphany. So in total it is a very special day at home
