Solemnity of St Peter & St Paul

Feast of St Peter & St Paul was celebrated yesterday. We read little bit about them. St Peter is the patron saint of foot trouble

Then the children had the option to color the illustrations from Waltzing matilda and St Paul image kind.

Munnu’s coloring

Learned about the symbolism of of the shields, which initially thought of making a Barque of Peter, The fisherman, but couldnt do that.

Key is the symbol of St peter, authority of church's papacy and authority to choose and bind. One key shows the closed door to the unrepentant sinner and the other shows the opened door to the repentant sinner to heaven.

The below shield is of st paul and sword is assigned to him as he was a great persecuter of chrisians and the book  is a symbol of his conversion into a great preacher.

Game

Annu and Munnu did the maze which was an interesting one, though munnu took time to reach Rome.

Montessori Approach

Maria Montessori was an Italian doctor who believed that young children could learn better and more quickly in a school environment that didn’t feel like a school. Hallmarks of Montessori schools include child-appropriate furniture, older children teaching younger children, and lesson plans that are invisible to the pupils.

Typically, Montessori teachers help children into and out of learning experiences, at their own pace. If a 10-year-old girl is enjoying long division, for instance, she can do long division all day. No bell will ring. Spelling can wait, until next week if necessary. www.boston.com

Feast of St Anthony

As we celebrate this great saint's feast day today on June 13,  who is also called as The wonder worker, The great miracle worker and as pope Leo 12th said the Saint of the world. St. Anthony is one of my favourite saints as prayers are always heard so amazingly. Best wishes to all antony's on this day.

"Attribute to God every good that you have received. If you take credit for something that does not belong to you, you will be guilty of theft."  St Anthony.

It is said that St Anthony was an amazing preacher and one legend shows that even the fishes rose from water to listen to his preaching.

Because of St Anthonys history of been invoked by a single woman who was searching for husband, it is a good day for those who have a vocation to marriage to to visit a church dedicate to St Anthony .

Solemnity of The Most Sacred Heart Of Jesus & feast day of Immaculate heart

Just wanted to do some craft with our little ones for this beautiful feast day of Sacred Heart.

We used some felt fabric  bought from the craft store. First simply hand drew the red heart shapes and bits and pieces for the hearts.

For the sacred Heart of Jesus

A large red heart felt
Orange fire shape
From a different color brown, cut little sticks to make the crowns
Few drops of blood from red felt.

We read about this wonderful feast which falls 19 days after pentecost, been through the story of st. Margaret Mary Alacoque who promoted the devotion to the sacred heart of Jesus in its modern form.

We really liked the coloring page  which Munnu used to paint. Took litany of  sacred Heart and prayed during the time of  craft work. Theresu did enjoy her own messy work with  paint.

                                                      Munnu's work

                                          Annu's felt sacred heart

I wanted to talk through the symbolic meaning of the images and the each  part of image which found to be very devotional.

It was really beautiful to go through the 12 promises of Sacred Heart. In the end  our little altar was decorated with their pictures.

 Such a wonderful feast day.

                                             Immaculate Heart

We couldnt get much time to do on the feast of immaculate heart other than the coloring sheets. However we were able to go for H.mass as  family and had novena of Our lady of perpetual help.
