Venezuela country study & Mary crowning
This was the third home ed gathering. Country study is about Venezua. Venezuala is in South America and lots of things to explore. This country was picked because of lot of unrest happening in this country for decades and decades.
From the breathtaking heights of Angel Falls to the mighty waters, there are lot of things to discover the landscapes, culture, and traditions of Venezuela through this hands-on. All the children brought their lapbooks they prepared with the time zones, currency, neighbouring countries and so on.Learn about the inspiring life of Teresa Carreño through the beautifully illustrated biography Dancing Hands: How Teresa Carreño Played the Piano for President Lincoln by Margarita Engle, which tells the story of the Venezuelan child prodigy who performed for President Lincoln.
Enjoy traditional Venezuelan folk tales, make delicious homemade arepas, learn to play the traditional game Gurrufío. This study help children to learn, create, and connect with the rich heritage of Venezuela.
Following that, we prepared hand rosary with all the children as this is Marian month. Another speciality of this May month is May crowningWe have decided to proceeed to our Ley hill top and do the Mary crowning. It was a lovely processiona and sky started shining too.
