Tudor House- Ordsall Hall

Ordsall Hall is a brilliant opportunity for a real experience of how Tudor lives were. Grand chamber, kitchen, Great hall, coat of arms all shows the story that take us back to 700 years.

Great Hall
Built by Sir Slexander Raddycliffe and it was built out of timber. Banquet is served. Children enacted as tudors dressed up in various tunics and hats. They dined with fake meat, breads, pies and enjoyed thoroughly.

Some of the reading glass from the time.

It was interesting to know different tudor kings - Henry 6, Henry 7, Edaward , Mary  and Elizabeth and great men like Shakespeare,

Great chamber is one of the oldest wing and were ladies space for relaxation and rest. Below is the bath tub from tudor period.

A few items in the kitchen is rotating spit, herbs and various menus of the day.

Menus were of different level for rich and average men. Tudor houses were of back and white shade...Rich people had lavish meals with meat and varieties. Their life style, garments displayed how much money they can afford for food and clothings. Children tried to put bumroll and dressed up in the tunics.

Imperial War Museum

A visit to lmperial War Museum look at history from World war  One to present day. A lot to explore, with amazing stories of real life of  people. Photos, artworks and war history was a real eye opening portrays the sufferings of the people and their dedication.

A 12th Birthday - Movie Party

Our miracle baby turned 12. All these years Lord is so gracious to us and how our pre term girl grown big, sporty girl.

Thought of watching something special with her friends on birthday, so theme  of movie party evolved. All you need is a movie and popcorn to make it special.

Invitations were sent off to some of her friends of same age from Mcr.

Good morning Birthday Girl. Wishes passed on with her desire for pancake, flooded with gifts and home made  cards.

Transformed house to a small movie theatre experience with some reels, twinkling lights. Some table decors with movie theme : snacks, sweet.

Food fun

Children prepared their own cone bags with lots of sweets pinballs, Harribos, lollies..

Girls all had their fun with dancing to begin with, then food .

Fun time
It was pinata time and everyone has hard hits ended up cracking eventually.

Movie time

It wouldnt  be easy a movie party without a feast of salt, crunchy goodness. Break out the old day favourites and add a few feasts on the clàssic. Watched padington 2...though many watched already.

Finally had her birthday cake cutting with a glare of lights.Annu in her limited time after college, baked chocolate cake .

  Girlie Time
Baking mode with songs and chat. Watched movie towards the end but many had to Leave.  Ended up with goodie bags packed with various sweet and au revoir.

Thank you Lord for the children being great gift in our lives. Happy 12th Birthday Theresu, still carrying all the joys and pains as a newborn  but keeping her sporty, beautiful and healthy child. I remember pleading to God to gift me Theresu.

All the behind scene efforts.

On the Feast of Epiphany

It was 12 days of Christmas and  the feast of Epiphany falls.  Visit of wise men  and revelation of Jesús to the world. Also celebrate today the Baptism of the Lord ; Mich and Geo celebrate their baptism days.

It is the tradition to have an Epiphany feast and house blessings on the day. Jo marked the House with blessed chalk. It was written 20 +C +M + B+ 23...which means Christ Bless the Home or the letters indicant the name of wise men.

Tried to incorporate something for each days in connection with 12 days of Christmas song.

We had a mini Epiphany tea  along with we sang 12 days of Christmas. Our friends turned up too.

There was king cake not the proper one, instead a ciclistes gataeux  and it was Annu who got the coin hidden to become the king or wise men of the day.

          Happy Feast of Epiphany
