Feast of the Assumption

Honoring Mary's Assumption into Heaven is something that  dates back a long way in the
history of Christianity. It is this day that we specially remember when Our lady was taken up to heaven with body and soul.

It is traditional to bless fruits and herbs on this day. In Medevial times, devotion to Mary was so strong in

England that the country was known as 'Mary's dowry'.

St JOhn Damascane, writing in 749, stated : ' St Juvenal the bishop of Jerusalem made known to emperor to possess the body of Mother of God, that Mary died in the presence of the apostles, but the tomb, when opened at the request of St Thomas, was found empty: the apostles concluded that her body was taken upto heaven'' (feast & seasons ).

The feast of Assumption craft is adopted from real life at home blog. The floral arrangement with sticks and clouds was done by my little kidoos with my assistances. Today is an important day fr us , the independence day of India.

O Sacred Heart Of Jesus

The month of June is specially devoted to Sacred Heart. The Solemnity of Sacred Heart which falls on 8th of June in 2018 which is a wonderful opportunity to ponder upon the love found in the heart of Our Lord. St Margaret Alacoque was visited by the Lord and expressed his desire to have devotion to Sacred Heart, his fullness of love and mercy.

The love of Christ is not chimera, it is real which is expressed in the great mystery of Incarnation itself.

Brodsworth Hall- Doncaster

Brodsworth hall is one of the surviving  examples of  Victorian country houses , built by wealthy Thelluson family in Italian design which is situated near Doncaster.. Beautiful mansion, the hall sits at the heart of the glorious pleasure gardens around it made in 1860, overlooks its historic parks and wider estate landscapes.

Nursery in manor house with lots of victorian toys like skittles, yoyo, dress, tapestry and so on.

Later on evening was a time to wander around in lawn and had some sports. Nice day out and back to Sheffield JY house.
