Italy
This term we were looking at fabulous country of Italy. So many cultural links, foods, artists, musicians, landmarks and places to visit. We had a mini gathering online to see how children were upto. That was great to see.
Our family started off with with Italy map- salt dough map representing different areas coloured in the Italian flag colours.
Library was visited to fetch some books and stories.
On the second home ed dayon February 25th 2026, 5 families gathered and we have begun the day with a story- The Clown of God by Tomie De paola, then identify Italy in the map. Children started off with their own works. That was awesome..
Following that, kidoos had quiz by Georgus, mini presentation about Michaelangelo by Theresus. We looked at Michaelangelos famous ceiling paintings in Sistine chapel and looked at how he spent hung down on the ceiling to paint the picture and it took four years to finish the work. Copying that, children were given 9 stories from Old testament which Michalangelo were asked to paint by pope. Children were asked to go underneath the table and do one of each stories and come back.Everyone brought their pictures and made a guess what.
Ater lunch , we were off to Leyhill park.
Coming back home from park. Kids had fun play in the back garden and played chess together. Following that some of them made a leaning tower craft and stuck flags using toilet rolls, tooth picks, glue and so on.
Kids drew colosseum prior to the day.
