St Therese Of Child Jesus

October 1st is the feast day of St Therese of Child Jesus, which is also the feast day of our little theresu.St Therese is the beloved saint of many people. Making sacrifice beads is great. Little flower used strings of  beads in her pocket to count her gifts/ sacrifice she did for the love of god. This was found in Litlle ways and  with instructions to make sacrifice beads. We decorated the altar with the statue of St Therese. Went for the Holy Mass with theresu.

Kids read about St Therese and  thought of  making  Paperdali of St Therese, which will be fun too. Picture of rose flower was found from Jessica's blog which made me to make a lap book on St Therese. Beautiful coloring sheets aredone by Matilda. Beautiful Coloring sheets of the whole life story is there in glory stories.“O my Jesus, I offer this for love of Thee, for the conversion of poor sinners, and in reparation for all the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary." Teach your children this prayer and say it yourself whenever some suffering comes your way! This prayer truly helps us to put our (often small) sufferings in perspective!

There are lots of fantastic ideas to celebrate this beautiful day in mamatina's blog. Some small gifts were given to theresu and Munnu too remembering his feast day passed recently.

Autumn and saints

The month of October opens with two saints who are great favourites among faithful; St Therese and St Francis. They have such a universal appeal that they embody a profound and simple radicality in their faith. Finally , it is autumn, we are having harvest festivals....

At home, it was feasts of some children  and we had a little treat and feast . On the Feast of St Therese, Theresu and Geo decorated our altar with fake roses and decorated with St Therese cards with glitter, listened to her wonderful story. I had a miracle, thought usually St Therese in her story , she promised to send roses from heaven and I thought let me try and hope for a rose. By evening 10 pm, to my surprise and my prayers heard from heaven I truly believe. My husband received a rose from the place where he went for a course. He in fact brought for our little Theresu , however I realised that it was my wish and prayer that day to St therese to have a rose flower. Thank God.

Following that weekend, we went to Walsingham, Marian shrine for the pilgrimage as part of Marian Voyage and great experience. It was tradition to walk bare foot from slipper chapel and I felt bit ashamed to walk since many from our group was not doing. To my surprise, Annu's boots broke and I gave up mine for her and ended up walking barefoot and I did it as a penance.

It was another beautiful weekend , mich went for Piano competition as part of Syro malabar church and he got an opportunity to attend a two days conference on 'Youth in Business' , Manchester which run by an Australian team. It was a nice experience for me too and prompted me to start my own business which I have to work on it.

The second week of october was a caravan holiday for ours and Thomas family. Took a break from our school and stayed in Sunnyvale holiday park in North wales. Children  enjoyed being together , in swimming pool, chattering, playing outdoor and so on..Beautiful place with lots and lots of amazing beaches, pebbles, sands, caves and so on. WOW... so great beaches. ..wish to come back again. From there our journey continued to St David's cathedral. What a wonderful place to visit...

Visiting St David's cathedral was so beautiful though we were not expected to visit. David was live
in Wales. He was a prince born to a royal family. He was a monk and an young man, travelled from place to place telling people about Jesus and set up new monasteries. I the picture of St David, he carries a dove, the time to choose a new leader for the church of Wales- someone with strong faith.  The place was thronged and everyone came and speak...no one could be heard. Someone said to send David which he didn't want to be new leader. However, he was at last persuaded to come. He took his place on the mound of clothing and prayed to God. A white dove , the sign of Holy Sp
irit, came and sat on his shoulder. then, when he spoke, everyone listened and was convinced of his wisdom and and made him the leader.

On the way to cathedral and its surroundings with bell tower, canals,

Road Trip Day 1- Calai -Lisieux- Le Mans

Our Roadtrip commenced on Saturday with a amazing pilgrim blessing from Fr Tierney with car blessing.

All set to go for Our trip to Portugal in our car to attend World Youth Day in Lisbon,  driving through Frsnce and Spain. Both of the lands are my favourite and the languages we love to explore. Stickers UK and Eurolite all set with the help of our friend who has been for many road trips to Bulgaria, Kazhakisthan.

Also the land of so many saints and shrines in Europe. On Sunday we drove over to Bruntwood nearly took 3 and half hours to collect elder kids . From there to Kent and atopped over . Our journey to Dover on early morning to cross in Euro tunnel at 7 am train shuttle Le Shuttle.  So excited about crossing channel from Dover to Calai, France. One of the highlights of the day was crossing the channel through Euro tunnel. That was super, drove  into the long train inside our car. It only took half an hour to reach France. You can get out and peep out.

Inside Euro tunnel where our car is packed in tte train.

Starting from the relics of St Ambrose Barlow in our church.

Took nearly 3 heures from Calai to Lisiuex. Took 2 tolls to minimise the travel time. Plenty of refreshers, services on the way and toilet are different from UK, absolutelely great.Heavily pouring down and landscapes are different, lots and lots corn fields, sunflowwr patches.

On the way we bifurcated through Le Havre  bridge, absolutelely stunning bridge looks like faiiry bridge you could see through clouds in an enchanted fairy stories.
Finally the highlight of the day is reaching Lisieux, where the great saint lived in 19th Century. It is through her writings that her universal message becomes apparent, that of the sharing of love between God and Hunanity. The whole family of saints.

You could see Les Buussonetts, mansion in Lisieux where she moved into when her mom Zellie died at the age of 5 till 115 till her journey into convent. Beautiful one to visit unfortunately its stopped entry due to refurbishment.

We visited the Basilica of St Thrrese consecrated in 1954, and covered with mosaics that illustrate message of Saint Tterese. The relics of Saint Therese and parents are kept in church. Such a beautiful place, also so many litted lamps, st joseph and her life events projected in Basilica.

St John Paul gallery of exhibitions; you could see everywhrre the invitations for World Youth Day Lisbon 2023.

So many prayers sent with beautiful lamps lit. The patron of our Therese , whom we praying for .

In carmel convent where st Therese's tomb is there. This is the convent where Therese entered into, a vast array of toys, books, her hand letters all displayed there.

Outside the convent

Louis and Zelie's lives were guided by tteir motto- God served firsr and daughters of them were greatly influenced by their deep faith and religious fervor.

Finally by 6pm we reached our residence in a quiet village area with a lovely glance of lots of farming lands with spraying water mechanically. Things unloaded for the night to stay in and move to Lourdes in the morning.
