Lenten journey

Season of Lent is upon us.The time of lent is always a time of extra steps to pray, fasting, good deeds...Making an effort to be kind and gentle to others and within family. Some of our lenten traditions are the Strove Tuesday or Pancake day, the preparing phase before it commence. Prepared chocolate pancakes this year.

Following day is the Ash Wednesday and it was the day JY awakening commenced in Shefield.Getting ready for ash and awakening.

Some of the activities during the season is preparing stations of the cross with children and it was great to see colours and prepared booklet.Prepared  the Lenten calendar and both younger ones are very keen to follow small prayers and kind deeds.

Mini stations of the cross frames were made with the help of real life at home blog, incredible and stuck the picture on a thick cardstock and decorated. Theresu and Geo were very enthusiastic to do stations by lighting the candles around the lounge on each stations.

The little ones are quite keen to some lenten art works. Ideas taken from applesandabc. First of all a cross was made with painter's tape and painted with different colours.

Finally it turned out well and Theresu wrote 'I love you Jesus' and it came from her itself and the one next to her is from Geo.

Holidays in India

Visiting India again brought all our childhood memories and to nourish memories for my children about Kerala, grandparents and all the events and places we have been. This time it was a bit different from usual that we could be part of many weddings . The opportunity to see the vibrant and colourful weddings along with the blessed time with the couples.

The time in Alleppey and Thodupuzha was great with nephews, cousins ,visiting beaches, watching some movies, feasts in churches, going to the farms and so on.We had a safe and happy trip.Thank God.

Epiphany

On the Feast of Epiphany, word means showing of God to man-the day Our Lord was shown to public, wise men came to worship Him.Old name in Britain is Twelfth Night, some of the final twelve days of Christmas feast. You can take Christmas decors down on
this day.A mini Christmas to have a party and sing we three kings, On the First day of Christmas...

On Christmas and Octave

This time of Christmas was quick and relaxed, as usual we had a quick visit to Thomas Family. Another beautiful thing was the unexpected visit to our cousins in Bristol which was I thought was a very nice way of passing Christmas message .

Days before Christmas were of days of baking and preparation ..

Carol service did at one of the homes in Warrington. Many of the Homeschoolers gathered, practised and performed just a few days before Christmas and residents were wished Merry Christmas.

On Christmas day ,after H Mass children happily and joyfully thinking of baby Jesus not sure , or the building anxiety to open the presents. This year we managed to attend the Christmas mass twice which was very unusual for us.

Vox Christi band from India were performing in different places during Christmas and took part in Sheffield and was an amazing experience.

Visited friends on Christmas day with meal, crackers,Christingle and cakes.

There was a play in St Mary's Church Hall which many homeschoolers were preparing for more than a month and performed on 30th December.

Happy New Year 2020 to all. Have a blessed year ahead.
