Feast of Sacred & Immaculate Heart

Yesterday, 19 days after pentecost comes the feast. It was a blessed day. The story of St Mary Alencoque was read for children. After Holy mass, lit some candles and prayed that our hearts should alwsys cherish great love of the Lord for us.

In the eve, a few kids together after saying consecration prayer( you will get indulgence for saying this prayer on this Feast day) to Sacred heart went to woods, played football n fun. In fact my thought was to take children to orchard n pick some raspberries and make tart. That didn't work out. But it was a good day with lot of sunshine. In the end, there was some cskes decorated with strawberry slices reminding Sacred heart and His love for us.

The feast next to Sacred Heart comes  feast of Immaculate Heart, which is full of love to Jesus. May our hearts grow in love for Lord.

Raspberry picking

It is time for strawberry and raspberry picking . There is a huge bunch of raspberries available in our Chorlton orchard, free for anyone to come and pick.for some or other reasons, we always fail to visit this time in our orchard with many other fruits growing. This time we made it anyway. Thank God. Theresu enjoyed picking and ate straight from her cup.Brought some to home hoping to make some raspberry jam in my bread machine. I heard raspberries have more vitamin C than oranges, very healthy food packed with anthocyanins and part of bramble family.

Someone turned 4

Geo's birthday was on 18th June, however it was celebrated along with Theresu's first Holy Communion. On 18th , Geo had some gifts and went to Lego land which children were awaiting to visit for long time. finally we made it. It was a great time.Lots of things to play and make with lego bricks, rides. Geo made car and enjoyed sliding through the ramp. One of his favourite thing is lego and he enjoyed the most and want to visit more.

First Holy Communion of Theresu

Physical Preparations for First Holy Communion started more than a month ago . Theresu had her preparations going along with that for a few months, celebrating Holy Communion on 15th June 2019, St Joseph's Church Longsight in Syro Malabar Rite.

Centerpiece was decorated with paper mache chalice, bread sheath I bought from amazon , bread loaf and grapes which are the symbols of Holy Eucharist. The day before Holy communion we assembled the centerpiece.

All the first Holy Communicants together with priest and Bishop after Holy Mass.

 Annu along with Vibha prepared the fruit platter in the shape of a chalice, lot of hard work they put in. Came out very well though the chocolate fountain couldn't get function properly.

The communion cake decorated by Vid and Vibha, hats off to all their brilliant work for many days.

     Soup starters ( tomato & pesto, carrot and coriander) , appetisers, cheese platters and desert table.

Home made grape wine in the drinks table, I was not sure whether it came out ok as this was the time I prepared and worked out.

Preparations we had at home started roughly a week ago, mich did balloons, annu helped with theresu's veil, fruit platters. Cupcakes lemon and red velvet are iced and edible wafers added on top.

Vidya and Vibha prepared 6 layered Holy Communion Cake and looks stunning, appreciate all their hard works for a week. Decorated with white pearls and made a chalice on the outer side of the cake.

On thursday early morning, we visited whole sale market to get fruits for fruit platter and brought plenty of strawberries, grapes, kiwis and so on.

All the table decors for the hall are done by me with white table cloth, burlap runner on top and decorated flower vase with burlap, lace and flowers, candles, gems.

Holy communion prayer cards were handmade and added tassel to it  which I bought from ebay.

I am really glad that our miracle baby, beautiful gift in our lives received Our Blessed Lord the beautiful sacrament, so it was my desire to give a beautiful thanksgiving meal since many have prayed for Theresu when she was born as preterm babe on 28 weeks and 3 days. All glory to God.
