Tributes and Funeral of Achanuncle.

The sad news od deis of our dearest achanuncle is said. Although he was bedridden but he was fully alert. There are so many memories linked to him in a short glance.He was so detached man from many worldly pleasures... I remember the story starts fter my 10th exam, uncle reached home to appreciate me for good results.He rewarded me money as when he asked me what do you like as a reward for the 10th results. I said a bicycle which was very rare those days used by girls.I was really excited and then kept in touch .Once I left to AIIMS, every year I visited him in different seminaries, mainly vadavathoor. Ther was 10-5 minutes chat and to dining room, had scrumptitious meals.Then bye bye. It kept going for nealy 25 years. ALso been part of Mary Matha Seminary Thrissur. Through his death -Just unfolding the greatness of people around us who kept silent, unheard and left.. who shared profound pearls of wisdom, touched so many with goodness and deep holiness, and, as a moral theologian, lived with integrity in his own life, the very truths he taught and preached. It was a great blessing to connect with those who were part of our dearest Achan Uncle’s (Fr Thomas Srampickal) life and who carry cherished memories of him. We thank God for the gift of his remarkable life. Miss him very dearly Some of his personality traits since going for training- He became very inward and reflective.Stopped much alking. Always kept door closed, more time in prayer, reading.Not preferred to be ot in the day to avoid loose talks. Moreover, he took sower towards the end of the day. am oimpressed thinking about him.Wow such a great person, man of integrity. The words by some bishops- man of integrity, he taught moral theology, followed up the moral integrity as well in his life. His stuides and writings more into justice, conscience, moral theology, psychology, medical ethics covering family, a ll sorts of ethics. Some of his famous writings -coorporate world,... Other s deciphered him as Other professor remarked him as he was an excellent teacher who taught half an hour and dictated the notes for 15 minutes with so much clarity and he never ever used notes. He also followed very self disciplined man and for us people never understood all his values and uniqueness as a teacher and professor. I think Mar Alancherry remarked him as a next or comparable to the famous German moral theologian Bernard Häring "the foremost Catholic moral theologian of the 20th century and a leading advocate for church reform before, during and after the Second Vatican Council." . 7 I feel like he is inpsiring within something, God lead kindly light. I certainly believe God wants us as well to grow into the holiness, meditative and contemplative life.Moreover pray for all those thousand s seminarians, rectors, students, bishops whom he taught and trained with him. I found a little bit that he was like a iceberg which we never knew much and appreciate all the wisdom God has poured for many. The Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church, Mar Raphael Thattil, along with 17 bishops, priests and Church leaders, paid their respects. Their presence reflected Fr. Thomas’s invaluable contribution to the Church and especially to the formation of seminarians. Several bishops remembered him with deep affection and gratitude. Mar Tony Neelankavil, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Thrissur, said that Fr. Thomas was one of the priests who had influenced his personal life most deeply. Having worked with him in seminary formation for 15 years, he said that his death felt like a part of his own priestly life had been taken away. Mar Joseph Srampickal, Bishop of the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain, recalled knowing Fr. Thomas since 1993, when Fr. Thomas taught him Moral Theology at Vadavathoor Seminary. He described him as a priest who rendered great service to the Church and prayed that he would receive a high place in heaven. Former students also remembered Fr. Thomas as a beloved teacher and a great example of priestly life. They said that he not only taught Moral Theology but lived the principles he taught, making his own life a powerful message to his students. Fr. Thomas was the son of Thomas and Theresa of Pulinkunnu, Srampickal family. He completed his seminary studies at St. Thomas Minor Seminary, Pune Papal Seminary and other institutions. He was ordained a priest on 21 September 1967 and later obtained a doctorate in Moral Theology from the Alphonsian Academy in Rome. He served in several seminaries and Church institutions, including Mangalapuram, MOC Kottayam/Kurichy and Marymatha Seminary, Thrissur. Many priests and former seminarians expressed their gratitude for his role in their vocation and priestly formation. They remembered him as someone who encouraged many young men to become priests and guided them throughout their priestly lives. T
